This is not Taliban’s Afghanistan… It is democratic India… digital India… the person lying on the ground is Moinul Haque shot and beaten to the ground by the cops.

Moinul is one among the many people from some 800 families uprooted from their homes and was staying in a makeshift relief camp since Monday.

Some of the new age patriots would claim that it was Moinul who first charged at the cops… that is because they will always start their narrative from where they like it to start… I am not posting this for them… because they will also defend the thug jumping in the picture.

So let us start the narrative from after Moinul’s murder…. From the entry of the thug who stomped on a dead/dying human being….

The thug jumping in the picture is Bijoy Bania, a photographer hired by the authorities to capture pictures of the eviction incidents. As Moinul was shot and beaten this low life could not stop his hatred brewed over time and he ran to Moinul and jumped up and stomped on him and hit him over and over again… hatred that does not end with murder…

This is not Taliban’s Afghanistan… It is democratic India…

Many would like to say this is a one off incident… but NO… it is not… a human being is not made to react this way one fine morning… It is the result of an orchestrated hate mongering unleashed by the power on the powerless… This is planned crime…

The Thug has been arrested some would say… but mind you there are Bijoy Banias amongst us… completely ripe and just waiting for the right situation… and that should be a concern to people irrespective of what your ideology is… because this is the society you live in…

As I have said for past several years… In India it is Hanna Arendt’s ‘Banality of evil’ in play…. This is not the end of it…

You can choose to not say a thing about this… go on with your lives… or you can ask… ‘why is this happening in our society….” You can in your own way say ‘THIS IS WRONG’

Moinul’s kids - boys of 7 and 2 and a 5-year-old girl… shouldn’t we feel responsible as human beings..?

Forget about person or his kids or family or anything… when you see one human being jumping and stomping on another shot, beaten, dying/dead human being.. all in front of those who should uphold the law… Shouldn’t you feel guilty…? not just for it happening… but to be living silently in the same society?

When will we all start feeling the guilt of staying silent… for keeping so devilishly quiet…. 😡😡😡😰😔😭
