Nepotism is inevitable in every sphere of life and in every industry.
From school, you would find that those who used to take tuitions from that teacher used to get preferences, in-office also you would face the same challenges and even getting a bed in govt hospitals you need to have good connections. In our country either you hold a BPL card (Below Poverty Line) or you be the owner of an IPL Team and anything in between that you would face this kind of issue, means its the "middle-class" who suffers the most. At my initial days, it used to bother me but for the last 15 years I gracefully accepted that and I don't find a massive problem in it because it is quite obvious that a son or daughter of an actor would first try to become an actor, same goes with sports, business, a profession like a doctor or a lawyer also works in the same manner and there is no harm in it. My problem is with the current scenario of our movie industry where it's more of a Groupism which is more ugly and dangerous than Nepotism. It's like I am going to school to appear for an exam like others but I am being told that you are not allowed to give exam and when I try to take admission in another school, even there also I get to know that they are being asked not to accept my admission. Now that is what is happening in this Movie Industry which is my concern as someone is promoting star-kid or his kid is not a problem but you don't have the right to ask or threat other houses to not signing that actor or creative artist as He or She is an outsider and for whatever reason, you don't like him or her. That is a shame!!!
Our Bengal Icon and Megastar Uttam Kumar also faced the same challenges when Raj Kapoor and other associations had made his life difficult to establish himself in Mumbai Industry and he eventually almost became bankrupt as dates and release were delayed and created a lot of hurdles for him as they knew that this superstar from Bengal could rule their kingdom and eventually Uttam Kumar came back and for the massive financial debt he kept on signing whatever movie being offered even without reading the scripts, which was really a huge setback story of our Megastar who could have been India's Megastar today. So this is not a new thing which is going in B-Town.
Salil Chowdhury whose musical career would have been more extended and promising if not Yash Raj or Yash Johar had not played the dirty game.
Therefore, history is there about this corrupted glorified industry, it's just now Social Media is so active and people are no more suppressive as everyone is aware of the equations, protocols, and contributions.
Parents used to play the card of nepotism amongst their kids when they had 5 to 10 kids in our father's time. So I don't have a problem with nepotism as in India it could not be eradicated but I am always there and in my professional and personal life stood against Groupism and would always raise my voice wherever and whenever I identify this virus which is more deadly than COVID19.
