Since ages, stories have been molded into films, poems into plays, letters into novels and so much more.

Since the pandemic, a new medium of adaptation gained significance- the digital medium. And theatre makers across the world played and explored with digital dramas.

El Pueblo came up with their production 'No Country For Women' - A live, experimental, interactive, inter-media and most importantly, digital theatre production exploring the pandemic induced lockdown from a gender perspective. We've been doing shows of NCFW with various institutions, organisations, civil society groups and universities.

But now, since things have started opening up, we, as theatre makers and practitioners were intrigued and thrilled to think if a digital theatre can be adapted into a physical one. It was a challenge for us, but we have been fond of experiments!
And we did a physical show of NCFW at Goethe Darbaar×Freedom at Goethe Institut on July 29, 2022. We're very much thankful to Goethe Institut for inviting us, giving us the platform and for all the cooperation which went in organising this play. And to a very lovely audience who came, watched, listened, appreciated and gave us their valuable feedback.

International Women's Day marks and commemorates multiple struggles and achievements of women. Most importantly, it says “We exist.”

On the occasion of IWD, El Pueblo staged its interactive digital theatre performance ‘No Country for Women’. This was staged in collaboration with Women and Gender Development Cell at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and Association of Commonwealth Universities. It was premiered for TISS fraternity.

We would like to thank Dr. Asha Achuthan and Rajni George from TISS WGDC for their humble invite.

We would also like to congratulate the whole team for putting a successful show.
Thanks to our performers Dipali and Sonia Malik who embarked the stage graciously. Special mention to Sonia, who joined us for the first time for this show, put in a lot of hard work and did a remarkable job.
We would like to extend a big thanks to Naman Jain who flawlessly handled the complex technical department. And of course to the people who made it all happen, through their imagination, creativity and all the efforts - Sunita Singh and Steven S George - who wrote, designed and directed the play.
A very special thanks to Vinit Gupta who joined us behind the camera for pictures and videography. This was truly a team effort and thank you everyone for their spirit.
And lastly, a huge thank you to all the students and audience who participated in our interactive theatre show to make it successful and vibrant.
