Swipe right to see how Bandhu camp community absolutely lit up the public space we designed with and for them. We definitely believe that it’s the people that make a space, and bring so much life to it!!

We could not be more proud to see the results and hope that the more people from the community come and use the space as their own

‘Bandhu ka adda’ is a very special project for us. It is designed to provide playful seating to the residents of bandhu camp, Vasant Kunj made up of individual of varying heights. The serves the dual function of bringing all the components together while also lowering the costs. We designed this considering various activities of a child as well as adults, with the goal of providing a space for that can be utilised by everyone!

Working with the people has been the most rewarding part of our project. It is amazing to see the happy faces of the community!

As part of our initiative focusing on , we created a large colourful mural as surface treatment to define an unused space of the settlement, promote educative play and enhance the overall area.

We can’t wait for kids or even adults to play in this space and make it their own! Do let us know if you think there should be more of such in your city.

2 lockdowns, a gazillion roadblocks and numerous design discussions later, we are happy to share images of one of our interventions at Bandhu camp, Vasant Kunj. As part of a larger project to improve accessibility to simple public spaces in informal settlements, we focused on engaging with the community to better understand their existing built and unbuilt environment.

Together with the community, we then attempted to playfully utilise some of their spaces converting them into ‘places’ that they can enjoy! The support and enthusiasm we have received from the children and adults has made the process even more fulfilling!

Excited to share more updates soon!

Who doesn’t love fairs and street food?

Street fairs typically organised as annual events essentially bring together a wide variety of organisations and institutions from local communities and allow them to showcase their products and services.

From large cities to small ones, we witness a surge in gourmet street food vending activity. Food carts not only stimulate entrepreneurial activity but also serve as a critical role in the activation of the public realm!

Both of these attract a large number of people and should be treated as important public spaces.

Today we’re talking about Jan Gehl!

He is an architect and urban designer focusing on “cities for people”. He has been one of the most influential figures in the drive towards more liveable and healthier cities for over four decades.

Gehl advocates a sensible, straightforward approach to improving urban form: systematically documenting urban spaces, making gradual incremental improvements, then documenting them again.

He has also addressed the food habits in people through designing spaces that help us make better food choices, which is a new take on looking at public spaces.
