Four words for the same flame — Ember in English, Deep (दीप) in Hindi, Charāgh (چراغ) in Urdu, and Loh (ਲੋ) in Punjabi.
Ember. Deep. Charāgh. Loh. reflects on the many languages, traditions, and ways of seeing that make Indian contemporary art so rich and plural. At its heart is the idea that light belongs to no single tongue or tradition—and neither does art.
Shubhra Das brings her quiet, intuitive engagement with nature, exploring beauty as a form of rigour rather than decoration. Her layered works emerge through a meditative process of observation, allowing forms, textures, and rhythms to unfold organically.
Kamar Alam explores the movement of thought and consciousness through infinite space. His contemplative works consider how the thoughts we carry shape who we become, and how thoughts free from fear, ego, and burden can move beyond the self as compassion, wisdom, and goodness.
