Designing is totally different from all other professions.it needs lots of hard work and patience!!!But if you are with interest,you can make it easy.coming to designing a car or any other industrial products....you have to hold a master degree.Before which you should prove your creative skills.being creative makes you unique and thats what is mostly needed here.

Coming to your qualifications,its better to start from your 15 or 16 on improving your designing sills,creativity and all other important aspects.First of all you should select a good designing school...some of them will be listed later here.For getting admitted into these schools you should be highly eligible!!!Chose a good school on the basis that they are recognized globally,having tie ups or close relationships with the car companies,good placements of it students,distance from your home etc.But you have to prove yourself there!!!
Getting into these colleges is much complicated!!!!!you have to prove your drawing skills and creativity!!!so start sketching your unique designs all the time when you free!!!!it makes you perfect.so draw draw and draw!!!!!The admission in these colleges takes much hard work!!!!!The whole admission process may take up to 5-6 hours!!!!You have to attend a written test,interview with professionals...etc.Its better to carry your own portfolio of your designs which proves your creativity and drawing skills.designing needs science to so good marks at your 12th may help you!!!!!Having knowledge of some computer programs like Adobe Photoshop,Autodesk Autocad,etc computer aided design softwares may also help you.
On getting in you have to opt for industrial design or product design....out of hundreds of design schools in the world,only a few schools specialize automotive design.!!!!!!!!the course structure may be around 3-4 years.....or may be even 5 with master degree.The fee in these coll may be high....but the teaching skills in these deserve it!!!!!!
