Boku no Pico is an infamous Japanese anime series released between 2006 and 2008. It is widely categorized as one of the most controversial works in the medium due to its explicit portrayal of sexual situations involving characters depicted as minors.

Content and Controversy

The series is composed of several installments that explore romantic and sexual themes between young, effeminate male characters and adult or peer partners. Because of the ages of the characters involved, the series has faced significant ethical criticism and is illegal or heavily restricted in many jurisdictions. It is classified as adult content and is often discussed in the context of legal and moral debates regarding the depiction of minors in media.

Internet Culture

In online communities, the series became a well-known internet meme. It is frequently used in “bait-and-switch” pranks where experienced users recommend it to unsuspecting newcomers as a “must-watch” or “cute” series to elicit a shock response once the viewer realizes the nature of the content.
