Waking up in Darjeeling is always fun. The first thing I do is go out and see if the mountain is visible today. Luckily in my 3 recent trips, I managed to see the mountain every time but just once each time, even when I stayed for 30 days 😂

If only I could wake up to this view everyday!!!

I've seen this gate before, in ruins, in a video from 1945. On the other side of the video was a young boy, looking back at me across 80 years.

Being there, in the same spot as that young boy was, was very stimulating. Specially given the times we live in.
