Balance is the main key in designing to show exactly what we are highlighting and giving importance to the subject. It's one of the important topics in principles of design
If we use balance perfectly. Then we can able to deliver the message without distraction.
3 types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical and radial balance.
Symmetrical: It's like a mirror, giving importance to both sides. ex: see-saw. In see-saw, we have to give equal mass on both sides. Equality should apply in all terms of design ex: color, type, scale, text, pattern etc.
Asymmetrical balance: It will be helpful to give importance to one particular side and less important to another.
i.e Both side weightage may not be equal.
For example, we can use the asymmetrical balance to get attract the viewer, to create dynamic layouts and makes the subject focus easier on one particular subject.
Radial balance: It's the exact centre of focus. Kind of circular fashion. There is no differential weightage but the design should meet centre focus or the focus should end in one major part.
In part II we will learn how we can implement these principles in design.
