1. Running in Circles - Matt Kearney: Just love that chorus... the “keep me runnin’ runnin’ runnin’ “ part is so catchy.
2. Therefore I Am - Billie Eilish: The vocal sound is so unique. Hella layering. That line “stop, Stop, what the hell are you talking about? Ha Get my pretty name outta your mouth” is so iconic.
3. How Not to Drown - CHVRCHES: Love that chorus, that slapping beat and the dude’s accent and voice in this. Cool track.
4. No Chances - twenty one pilots: Such a unique sound to this… modern elements with gregorian sort of choir vocals. TOP is sooo good.
5. Mythomania - a-ha: Such great sequenced synth work. That chorus is so epic. I love this band.
6. Philophobia - BRIDGE LIVWAT: I thought this song would be really shocking to the listener. Quite the departure from the electronic hip hop influence of Uncaged. Love the trap beat in the chorus, the ending instrumental is iconic.
7. Pickled Ginger - Land Ho!: Love that crunchy guitar so much.
8. All Apologies - Sinead O-Connor: I love this cover. Sinead is just a super interesting person with a beautiful voice. I like her a lot.
9. Phantoms of Terra - Kevin Max: I love the movements in this song and I love Kevin Max with all of my heart.
10. Is It Just Me? - Sasha Alex Sloan: Love that chorus. Nice cadence in the verses. Just a very pleasant track.
11. Kykakacha - Otyken: This song is so quirky and kinda dark and I super love it.
12. Higher Power - Crowder: Love the grit to this. The cadence of the chorus is sooo 🔥🔥🔥
13. fluorescent - Switchfoot: This song is so fascinating… those strings are so awesome. Very nice movements. Those BV oh’s are absolutely perfect.
14. The Tradition - Halsey: The chord progression, her sweet voice, the build… what a great track. Epic.
15. If I Had Time - TIREFALL: Nice hopeful song about a promising relationship. Just an acoustic and the legendary Xandi. Great closer on our final CMM compilation.

Some thoughts on each track:

1. Lagoon - Havana Swim Club: The groove… them horns. Such a satisfying sonic experience.
2. Folsom Prison Blues (Live): Johnny Cash: That legendary “hello, I’m Johnny Cash”. Love the rhythm to this and those ridiculous lyrics.
3. Shotgun Willie - Willie Nelson: Love the groove, the cadence and then there are this horns! Fun track.
4. Redecorate - twenty one pilots: Love the synth in this so much... the rapping midway through is such a nice touch. I nice lo-fi feel throughout.
5. End of the Road - Noga Erez: Kind of a swing feel, but a modern pop sound with a sort of marching band beat. Such a fun track!
6. A Good Man - Semler: I love the sound of her voice. I think it’s doubled up...
7. Simple Math - Manchester Orchestra: Love that bass & strings, thought provoking lyrics.
8. Opal Angel - Luna Li: Love that distortion when it’s comes in and gives this mellow song some aggression.
9. I Don’t Really Care - Mat Kearney: Such a Kearney song. Love the groove, the cadence. Beautiful.
10. We Are not as Strong as We Think We Are - Derek Webb: The lyricism is so brilliant. I love his voice so much.
11. Maybe Your Heart’s Not in it No More - The Wallflowers: It’s soooo good to have new music from The Wallflowers. That mellow groove and his dry vocals are so satisfying.
12. Let Me Call Thy Grace to Mind - Stephen McNeil: Beautiful. Is that accordion? This is awesome.
13. Dirty Rotten - Jeremiah Dirt: I just love how dark this is... I suppose this is about total deprevity?
14. True - Danny Elfman: K... really dark sounding. I love the creativity in this piece. Elfman is a mad genius. Looking forward to the release of the rest of this album.
15. Liberty - Isa Ma: Love the picking and the horns... such inspirational lyrics. Great way to close this compilation.

Some notes on each track:
1. Rock ’n’ roll - Alice Cooper: Love the old school feel to this. Really reminds me of his early stuff. That hook is sooo good. That organ is such a nice touch.
2. Level - The Raconteurs: Such great guitar work in this song… is that high part guitar? I think so. Sick effect… it sounds kinda synthy.
3. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart - Wilco: Nice groove throughout. Love the cadence of “I am trying to break your heart”.
4. Digital Witness - St. Vincent: ‘em horns tho. Love the 80s influence. So funky. That beat is infectious. Fun track!
5. You So Done - Noga Erez: Speaking of horns… this is my fave new artist. She is like Billie Eilish with horns. Catchy catchy stuff.
6. Keys - BRIDGE LIVWAT: A song written by Bridge to his producer son Xandi about the “keys” to life. Fave line: livе in the moment, love everyone don’t let hate steal your joy forgive the haters but don’t let them win leave them loved but annoyed
7. Playing Hookey - Andre Henry: a great church critique, but I love that he acknowledges his love for God in the bridge. Also love how the clean version says “ish” lol
8. St. Roch Blues - Hurray for the Riff Raff: Nice bluesy feel to this song.
9. Let ‘Em In - Wings: My gosh, this track is so timeless and brilliant. Love the drums and the flutes. Very unique sound. Paul McCartney is boss.
10. Hey Jude - Wilson Pickett: I never thought a cover of “Hey Jude” could be so good. A soulful rendition with horns is just an amazing take. I’m like, “are we sure this isn’t the original”?!?!?
11. Change of Time - Josh Ritter: Beautiful track. The finger picking throughout has this forward motion that feels so earthy. The drum rolls come in, then the electric and piano build this song beautifully.
12. Chicken - Semler: Love the vocal effects in this. Beautiful acoustic sound. The melody in the chorus is so catchy. Heartbreaking lyrics… love can be so difficult.
13. The End of the Game - Weezer: That intro is so epic.
14. Highschool Doomsday - Tirefall: Such a fun track. Love the “woos”. Love the yelling at the end. These guys are great!
15. Dead - PIXIES: Loving the discord. These guys were so ahead of their time.

Volume 49 is out now. It features The Who, twenty one pilots, Yave and Tirefall.

Some thoughts on each track:
1. Baba O-Riley (ConfidentialMX Remix) - The Who: completely unnecessary remix of a legendary piece. It’s so cinematic and is a killer intro so I could not resist.
2. Shy Away - twenty one pilots: love this… very synthy, that bass give it so much umph.
3. Never Quit Never Lose - Will Tunik: That bass tho. Love love love the cadence and intensity of the rapping. Kinda motivated to never quit.
4. No Way - Yave: The structure of this song is just mindblowing. The vocals and vocal samples are so fire. Beautiful melody.
5. My Love - M.A.G.S.: Those sliding chord after the intro get me every time. Just great riffs throughout this song. That melody in the chorus is soooo catchy.
6. At World’s End - Blackchords: I love the pace in the chorus… a disco sort of feel but like good (not a huge fan of disco).
7. Teach You The Tongue - Kid Cadever: I just love the heavy beat to this… very similar to Colony House.
8. I Ain’t the One - Spoon: Those keys in the intro have such a nice tone and echo. Then the beat comes in big… just a well structured song. Love it.
9. How Many Times - Dopelemon Lemon: The beeps going on in this track are so dope... lemon. Love the melody in the chorus. Killer bass line.
10. Get Me Right - Dashboard Confessional: I love his voice sooo much. Nice muted guitar and arpeggiated guitar in between vocal lines, then that beat hits. Awesome dynamics in this piece.
11. The Luck You Got - The High Strung: That bass line is sick. Love the vocal effect. Nice guitar rhythm switch ups in the verses and chorus. The organ is such a nice touch.
12. RevBay - Tirefall : Love that bass riff… the heavy beat, the fuzzy scratchy vocals and the rhymes are infectious. The screaming at the end is so on point. Great track.
13. In Space - Krill Williams : I love her voice sooo much. Nice groove to this. The harmonies are absolutely perfect. Dreamy lyrics. I want a full-length album from this band so badly.
14. Jesus From Texas - Semier: Love her voice. Great songwriting. Such raw lyrics about doubt and grief. Hauntingly beautiful.
15. Voice That Stills The Raging Sea - Rivers & Robots: Beautiful. Need this song right now. Supernatural hope... What so many of us need right now. “Let your voice that calms the raging sea speak over me.”

A bit about each track:
1. Get Found - BASS DRUM OF DEATH: Such a raw sound. Love the pace of this. Great way to kick off a compilation. Some really sick sliding guitar licks that are soooo satisfying.
2. Tongues - Joywave: That drum beat at the kickoff... that vocal sample. This song is sooo catchy. Sounds almost like a xylophone following that melody in the chorus. The horns in the bridge are 🔥.
3. Get Free - The Vines: That guitar is so intense. Love the raspy voice... this is rock n’ roll!
4. White Room - Cream: epic beginning. Such a sweet groove to the verses. I love the use of BVs in that breakdown in the choruses... kinda haunting... in a good way.
5. It Could Happen - I’m Tired: Nice pace to this song. That line about fear is dynamite.
6. The Pendulum - Wicked Will: That beat and bass hits so hard. Great contract with the female vocals.
7. Heart - Jaw Talk: Great guitar parts with some fun rhythms in this piece. Catchy stuff.
8. Long Time - CAKE: This band is soooo good. Gotta do a Cake deep dive soon. Love his voice, they have such a funky approach to their music. It’s brilliant. Love the horns so much.
9. Something for Nothing - The Reverend Peyton’s Bid Damn Band: Loving the slide guitar and the gruff voice. Nice addition of the higher octave unison BV to reinforce the melody.
10. Keep it Coming - Letters: I’m such a sucker for a bouncy piano driven track like this. Catchy catchy stuff.
11. Van Horn - SAINT MOTEL: I like the uh huh’s in the verses. The chorus cadence and lyrics are soooo ear wormy. Love it. Nice use of horns at the end.
12. Survive - THE MOOG: Love the pace of this. The slow cadence over the fast pace is soooo satisfying.
13. Sleep Forever - Portugal. The Man: beautiful chord progression and melody... this band is so good. Nice use of strings... this song is epic.
14. Airy Janes Flying Carpet - Holy Family: I just mostly love the sound of the drums in this song. Mainly that snare. Nice tone.
15. Pray for Me - The Weeknd: Heck of a collab with Kendrick Lamar. Love that synth sound. Very minimalist during the rap. Great track to end this compilation with.

Some thoughts on each track:
1. Quirky Worky Song - Danny Jacob: A song I’ve hear sooo many times watching Phineas and Ferb with my kids. It truly is quirky... I just love the gibberish. Fun song.
2. Lavatory Lil - Paul McCartney: Love the bounce to this song. Dude is killing it at 78!
3. Scary Little Green Men - Ozzy Osbourne: I just love how big and heavy the sound is. Ozzy has such a unique voice. Catchy melody.
4. Birds, Bewildered - The Choir: I love the groove to this... The Choir does sad sooo well. Beautiful sad lyrics. This song is a masterpiece.
5. Night Garden - BENEE: That beat, that bass riff... her voice, that cadence. Such a fun track.
6. Clay Pigeons - Michael Cera: Love the echoey vocals... the retro feel. The lyrics are so odd. Me likee.
7. Why Don’t You Look Into Jesus - Kevin Max: This rocks soooo hard.
8. Drivers License - Olivia Rodrigo: That climbing chorus melody is sooo good. That build is so satisfying. Beautiful piece.
9. Another Day in Paradise - Phil Collins: Classic. These lyrics get me every time.
10. Hallelujah - Heather Williams: Such a gut wrenching, heart felt cry to God from a very real place. Love love love that bridge with the strings. So good.
11. Jesus, I Have My Doubts - Jon Foreman: I feel this one sooo much. Foreman is a legendary songwriter. Such a perfect song.
12. First Summer on Earth - Jesse Sprinkle: Beautiful melody.
13. Rail - Poor Old Lu: This is the perfect song. Love that line “What do I do, it seems
14. All My Favorite Songs - Weezer: Love the lyrics to this. Sooo Enneagram 4.
15. Save Your Tears - The Weeknd: Love that smooth voice, the arpeggiated synth, 80s beat.

1. Crockett’s Theme - Roundheads: sweet sweet synth. Beautiful melody. I love kicking off a compilation with a killer instrumental.
2. Call me (On the Phone) - Dante Elephante: Love the 70s feel with the modern synth over top. Cool track.
3. Kilby Girl - The Backseat Lovers : Love the pace of this song. Really nice instrumental breakdown at the end. Fun.
4. Brevitary - Somedaze: I really like the lead vocals. Nice trembelo, along with that sweet echoey guitar. Loving that drum beat. It has a beautiful retro aesthetic.
5. Ni****ne - Pretty Boy Aaron: The slow spoken word with the soulful BV is so interesting to me.
6. Air I Breathe - Sophie Blair: That rhythmic synth, her sweet voice, octave vocals, nice sampling, guitar licks sprinkled throughout. Beautiful piece.
7. Loner - Dead: Fun vocals with a sort of yodel thing going on. That echoey guitar gives it such a sweet vintage feel.
8. Blust of Times - Dankmus.: This is hilarious. It’s got samples from one of my favourite Simpson’s episodes. Pretty catchy.
9. Puddles - Frank Twitchy: Great cadence. Nice synth sample essentially playing the same note throughout. Very cool.
10. Take What You Want - Post Malone: Such an epic collaboration. The climbing chord progression really gets me.
11. Long Tailed Winter Bird: Paul McCartney: Such great guitar work in this song.
12. Simple Girl - Bad Cop/Bad Cop: Kinda reminiscent of No Doubt. Love it.
13. Winter - BENEE: Nice heavy beat. The bass is so prominent and her voice is so sweet. It’s a killer contrast.
14. In This City - stephen h: The spoken word with the acoustic strumming is just a killer aesthetic.
15. Faking - An Abstract Fact: That intro is wonderful. Anticipation building, the verse and pre-chorus builds more anticipation. Chorus has a nice payoff. I just wanna move when I hear this.
