Dr. N. Bhairavi Vaitheeswaran is an exceptional musician whose deep faith in music and innate flair for Carnatic classicism draw us into a world where nothing exists but the music itself. My father, Sri S. V. Krishnan, Founder, Naada Inbam, Ragasudha, conferred the title ‘Naada Oli’ on her when she was a promising young talent. Today, she lives up to that recognition beautifully, allowing her music to shine with depth, grace and brilliance. Trained under the legendary stalwarts Smt. Meera Kedaranathan and Sri K. R. Kedaranathan, Dr. Bhairavi holds a Ph.D. in Music and mentors over 100 students across the globe, guiding them from the fundamentals of Carnatic music to the finer nuances of advanced manodharma.
For this Navaratri concert, at the request of Javinam Trust, she presents ‘Stree Shakti’ — a glorious musical tapestry of kritis celebrating the Divine Mother, woven with the mesmerising poetry of Andal and Meerabai. Joining her are senior Violinist Karaikal Venkatasubramanian, a dear and favourite artiste of Naada Inbam since my father’s time, and the wonderful Mridangam Vidwan Kumbakonam Swaminathan, a much-loved accompanist among leading musicians.
