Smt.Maya Vinayan is one of the most sought after Mohini Attam dancers in Chennai.Smt.Maya began her learning at a tender age under the strict gurukulam of Kerala Kalamandalam.She completed her 4 year diploma course in Mohini attam and continued to learn Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi as well.Maya was lucky to join her life with dancer Sri.N.Vinayan,a student of the famous Dha
nanjayans.She was fortunate enough to do her advance studies in Kuchipudi under the able guidance of none other than Vempatti Sri Chinnasatyam.Smt.Maya has won many awards for her enumerable talents in all three classical dance styles,the noted ones being - VALLATHOL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE in Mohiniattam and KALARATNA AWARD by the Kaladarpanam Organisation.She has performed in many sabhas in and around the city and has won acclaims as a great danseuse.She has captivated the audiences in the U.S.A and Middle east countries.She has composed many items in all three dance forms and runs her own school- “TRIVENI” at Chennai.Maya has the credit of having worked with many eminent dancers like Miss Shobana(Cine Artist),Smt.Gopika Varma and so on.She has also been a well sought after dancer by many eminent gurus like the Dhananjayans. She is a dedicated performer,teacher and choreographer and a graceful dancer who has grown up into one of the greatest artists of recent times. Smt.Maya nad Sri N.Vinayan have one goal in mind-to spread the culture of this wonderful art form in varied aspets.In thier School – TRIVENI, they concentrate on not only the 3 forms of classical dances but in folk forms and contemporary themes as well.They have done many shows that brings out the beauty of our country through the dance.Vinayan is talented in his own way and has great experience in martial art form-Kalari Payyattu,Silambam etc.He has featured as the main dancer in many modern theatre shows along with dancers like Anita Ratnam,Lakshmi Vishwanathan,Krishnaveni Lakshmanan,the Dhanajayans and so on.
