We, Theatre Brats are the 34th Batch of First Rushers our graduation show is on 9th Dec'17, 7pm at Alliance Française of Madras. It is one more step towards freedom of theatre from being an elitist art form and into a popular young movement. The goal is to give everyone a chance to get on stage and experience the magic of Live performance. The format of First Rush is a simultaneous Actor’s worksho
p plus a production creation process. Anyone who signs up for this ninety-hour program goes through an introductory acting workshop, post that they are involved in the process of creating a production from scratch. Through the course of the rehearsals they are also given basic specialized training in voice, movement, character building and also theatre lighting and sound. The batch, which ideally consists of 15 to 20 people, is encouraged to get involved in all aspects of theatre. Apart from acting, under the leadership of an external director, they also design costumes, sets, settings, properties and even market the show and are in charge of selling tickets.
