Kuyili - first su***de bomber and the first woman martyr in Indian history.

She was an army commander of Queen Velu Nachiyar.
While attacking the Sivagangai Fort of East India company, she applied ghee to her body. She set herself on fire and jumped into the armory of the East India Company, thus securing victory for Queen Velu Nachiyar.

This act, passed in 1947, outlawed the Devadasi system, a system where girls were dedicated to temples and forced into sexual servitude.

P K Rosy was the first actress of Malayalam cinema who acted in the film “Vigathakumaran”. She was targeted for playing a higher caste woman’s role than her own. [Content sourced from internet]

I learnt about her when Google doodle paid tribute to her 120th birthday on 10th Feb 2023. When I saw with the post of PK Rosy... I was remembered and wanted to draw her.
