Subho Mahalaya to all πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™!
We are proud to upload our first post of Durga Puja 2021. The free hand illustration is created by our own member DrKaustav Sengupta.

This year too Sampritians will celebrate durga pujo (only members, of course) to avoid gatherings. Covid Compliance and government norms strictly to be followed. For more information please call 98844 89539

Durga puja without 3Ds is incomplete…….

Durga puja without dhak, dhunuchi and dance is incomplete. The devotional dance performed to thank goddess Durga holding dhunuchi with the beats of dhak mesmerize the devotees at the puja pandal.

Traditionally, dhunuchi naach or dance used to be a men-only affair. But breaking the old norms more and more women are encouraged to take part in the thanks giving dance. Dancers can be seen holding one burning dhunuchi in hand while performing to the beats of dhak amid ululation.
This year due to COVID19, puja pandals will miss the sight of this unique activity.
