SAKREBYLE ELEPHANT CAMP LOCATED ALMOST 14KM AWAY FROM SHIVMOGA DISTRICT IN KARNATAKA STATE. ITS GOING TO BE THE VERY FIRST ELEPHANT CAMP THAT IM GOING TO VISIT SO IM VERY EXCITED.
THE TIMING OF THE ELEPHANT CAMP IS MORNING 8A.M TO 11A.M every day.
YOU CAN VISIT THIS ELEPHANT CAMP IN ANY SEASON. ACTUALLY, WE VISITED IN THE MONTH OF JUNE.
THE 5 THINGS YOU MUST DO IN SAKREBYLE ELEPHANT CAMP IS...

The entry fee of the elephant camp may cost around 30rs/ per person + 100rs/ for the brush (if you want to bath the elephant)
Every day by 8a.m elephants is brought to the camp from another place (actually where they sleep at night), one by one by the trainers.
Elephants are brought to the side by a river named Tunga which is flowing inside the camp for taking bath. If you pay 100rs. In the entrance, you will be provided
With the brush to bath elephants.
Elephants after entering the river went up to some distance by swimming that actually scared us bcoz we couldn't see the elephant for a while, I seriously thought the elephant was drowned, if you ask questions do elephants swim? Yea it can swim very well in the water more than us.
After the elephant got sat in one position the elephant trainers encouraged us to come closer, but initially, we were very scared to even touch later it turned very enjoyable bathing the elephant
You don’t even believe guys elephant skin is so tough and thick than you think. The hairs present in the head is like a thick wire everywhere.
Actually, the elephants love to play with the water, you can witness with the baby elephant playing endlessly without getting tired. And big elephants spraying the water number of times.
The elephant trainers have a unique way of communicating with the elephants by making different sounds for various actions and they understand it very well.
By various commands given by the caretakers, they sit they stand they taking food and wishing everyone listening to them.
The trainers also warning visitors on what to do and what not to do. For our safety.
The caretakers feed up to 20kg of rice 5kg of coconut and jaggery for an elephant 2 times a day and the elephants drink water up to 50 to 60 liters a day when asked the caretakers.
Right after the bath, they turned dirty immediately by rubbing with the trees, metals, and rub with whatever they can do bcoz their skin seems to be desperately itchy all the time.
Elephants do have the lengthy pregnancy time i.e., 22 months approx 2 years
After pregnancy baby elephants can stand and walk immediately after 20 minutes
Elephants do have the largest brains obviously that weighs around 5.4kg
After bathing, elephants are brought back to the camp for feeding food, but before that elephant's head is massaged with the castor oil to avoid body heat issues especially in the summertime.
They also charge 50rs. Per person for elephant safari, they take max 5 persons on the elephant for a short trip around the camp im sure you'll definitely enjoy that especially kids. If it is the 1st time the kids experiencing such things that’s priceless.
I can say the most favorite part of the camp is the time that we spent with the baby elephants they are so adorable… having that in mind we visited a second time to this camp a few months later but on hard luck, at that time there were no baby elephants and having very few adult elephants left so it depends on our luck guys.
We had the most memorable time well spent with the elephants in the camp and especially we saw more kids came with family enjoyed more than us. So it’s a treat for kids.
