Mini Biography
Gaurishankar Ranjan is an Indian theatre artist, television director, and cultural practitioner with over three decades of experience across stage, film, and television. Beginning his artistic journey in theatre during the 1980s, he trained at Shri Ram Centre for Art and Culture, New Delhi, and later at Bharatiendu Natya Academy, Lucknow.
He has acted in more than 60 plays and directed over 30 theatrical productions staged across India. Since 2009, he has directed more than 2,000 episodes of Hindi and Bhojpuri television serials for major Indian networks including Sony TV, Zee TV, Star Plus, Zee Ganga, and Doordarshan.
Alongside his work in screen media, he remains actively engaged in theatre education, folk culture preservation, and mentorship of emerging artists.
