The first play designed and directed by Sourabh Anant, staged on 21st July 2011 shaped up like the dawn indeed, which was named ‘Vihaan’. Anant’s dream took the shape of a ‘space’ for young energies where they can explore the art within themselves with all freedom and express through the forms of art. Today Vihaan has become nothing less than an institution for young aspiring artistes to come toge
ther where several forms of arts are practiced and experienced; where the traditional and contemporary meet; where there are collaborations, combinations and experiments; where there is discipline, training, learning, initiatives and exposure; where there is theatre, music, dance, design, films, photography, talks, library and much more. ‘Vihaan’ came into being when Sourabh Anant saw this dream, initiated and gathered artists alike who had great energy and ideas to work along. Shweta Ketkar and Hemant Deolekar joined in with Anant, becoming the pillars of Vihaan, and the journey began in 2011.
