Optically Thin Clouds: This phenomenon is typically observed in thin, semi-transparent clouds or at the edges of clouds, like altocumulus, cirrocumulus, lenticular, and cirrus clouds, where light can encounter individual droplets or crystals.
This captivating display is a relatively rare sight, requiring specific atmospheric conditions and the right angle of the sun or moon relative to the cloud and observer.
