In multi-layer lithography, each colour layer can be drawn on a separate stone or reworked on the same stone. Every layer demands equal labour and precision.

The first layer is crucial—it sets the paper registration, and all subsequent layers depend on it.

Reposted..
This is the first time I am presenting a series of lithographs. The source photographs, held personal significance, as these were photographed by my father dating back to the late 50’s or early 1960’s. Three of the five lithographs are a tribute to my mother, who was my father’s muse. Several of the prints incorporate subtle color tints, such as light blue and flesh tone.

The series was a labour of love, and cathartic to my memories as all the characters here have left their physical realm. The process of production was long drawn as , the litho studio’s location is in Baroda, and it Gujarat required extended periods of work and travel.

“Tez Gogoi’s -Two Pillars” captures the delicate balance of decay and resilience through lithography. This artwork showcases an architectural scene, with worn, weathered pillars standing amidst crumbling walls and textured surfaces, portraying the passage of time and the structures’ silent endurance. The meticulous details highlight both fragility and strength, making it a powerful commentary on survival and the beauty in the broken. With this we came to an end of six works done during “𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙮 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 2024” Wishing everyone good luck for their artistic journey, growth and fulfilment.
A heartfelt thank you to the jury, participants, applicants, donors, and mentor for making the Monsoon Lithography Workshop a success. Your support, creativity, and guidance have been invaluable in nurturing the art of lithography. Together, we celebrate a shared passion for printmaking and look forward to future collaborations

‘Untitled’ by “Rishin Zaman”, part of monsoon lithography workshop 2024- captures the essence of quiet strength. The work presents three women draped in traditional attire, each with a unique expression of curiosity, caution, set against a dark, contrasting background. The detailed patterns and soft, earthy colors evoke a sense of cultural heritage and shared experience, inviting viewers to contemplate the unspoken narratives within. His first lithography attempt went remarkably well, as he has strong foundation in woodcuts. The intricate patterns and earthy tones reflect the influence of Islamic ideology and cultural heritage, inviting viewers to ponder the unspoken narratives within.

This vibrant lithograph by “Pancham Gaur” titled “कीर्तिमुख” features a gradient from teal to orange, creating a lively backdrop for intricate, repeated face patterns in white lines. Two larger, expressive faces stand out, adding contrast and depth. The bright colors enhance the visual appeal, blending traditional motifs with a modern, surrealistic touch, inviting viewers into its captivating details and symbolism. We are truely grateful to and for their support. # lithography
