Vyuti was conceived in 2013 after a period of introspection and research by Aranyani on the different dynamics of solo and group formats of Indian classical dance. Reflecting on what it means to be a group of dancers on stage, Aranyani wanted to explore possibilities of interactions between people on stage - communication and contact between multiple dancers through Bharatanatyam, without comprom

ising on its form, technique or vocabulary. Inspired by all the journeys Aranyani had – her fundamental training and experiences with her guru Leela Samson, her years of experiencing contemporary dance and other movement vocabularies, her interactions with various inspiring people during her research on dance, and her current concerns with Indian classical dance – Aranyani wanted to push the idea of group work in classical dance to a different level though a group of interweaving bodies. And thus Vyuti was born...

Rejecting the notion that indian classical dance forms are too rigid and structured, and ultimately too traditional, Vyuti emerged out of a need to explore and display the modernity inherent in this ancient classical dance form. Vyuti currently consists of Artistic Director, Aranyani and dancers - Aswathy Manoharan, Priya Kaul, Tony Pius, Archana Nair, Aiswarya Krishnan Suraj and Ashwin George

‼️ONLINE DANCE COURSE ALERT ‼️

During the pandemic, Aranyani B had devised and started an 11 month course for professional dancers on exploring multiple possibilities within Bharatanatyam and pushing the boundaries of what was possible within the form without deviating from the vocabulary but rather going deeper into it.

The course attracted students who were on their own explorative journeys with Bharatanatyam and some really wonderful choreographies and experiments emerged through the year.

In January 2025, she is happy to bring the second edition of this course.

If you’re a classical dancer who’s looking to push some boundaries and explore new possibilities within the framework, this course is for you! Join Aranyani as we immerse ourselves into technique, choreography, theory and history.

Classes start online in January 2025.
Classes will be once a week on a mutually decided day of the week

Fees/month - 2500/-
Fees 3 months - 7000/-
Fees for 6 months - 14,000/-
Fees for 12 months - 23,500/-

Limited spots (minimum 10 students required for the course to commence).
