Here’s a glimpse of our key art coming to life. Wishlist SURI: The Seventh Note if you haven’t already 😊

Every level in SURI: The Seventh Note tells a story.
This shrine in this video honors Sa-Theju, The Gandharva who shaped rhythm itself in Suri . He founded the principle of echoing Suri's rhythms and shared it freely. You'll find this shrine in the forest levels of our game.

Visually, the shrine draws inspiration from Theyyam. An ancient, ritualistic art form from Kerala. We can’t wait for you to experience this level for yourself šŸ˜„

The cute thing you see in the video is actually a monster called Kolopulu. Yes, even the name is adorable. You’ll encounter it during one of our escape sequences. Just don’t let its looks fool you šŸ‘€

From concept art to coming alive in-game. Meet Rulpui, one of the monsters you’ll encounter on your journey while playing SURI: The Seventh Note.

Inspired by a Lushai folktale monster we discovered in Ghosts, Monsters and Demons of India, Rulpui retains its feathered crown and giant serpentine form. However in SURI, it goes a step further: breathing fire, venting flames through its scales, and wielding fangs sharp enough to cut through rock and wood alike.

Rulpui poses a great challenge for anyone daring enough to cross its path.

āš ļøThe level shown in this video is still under development and we can’t wait to share more soon šŸ˜„

Following up on our earlier look at the dancing statues and the cooldown puzzle space. Firstly, thank you for all the feedback and kind words. It genuinely helped us improve this section.

Here’s what’s changed since then:
1) Removed the Encore VFX on jumps. Since this is meant to be a calmer, cooldown section, the VFX felt unnecessary and a bit distracting for this space.

2) Heavier, slower animations One of the biggest pieces of feedback was that the statues needed to feel heavier. We slowed down the animations so they read more like massive stone figures coming to life rather than something light or snappy.

3) Improved scene polish We pushed the scene further with more finalized art assets, better lighting, and added ambience to help lock in the overall mood of the space.

4) Stronger focus on SFX and music. Sound now plays a much bigger role in making the statues feel alive and grounded within the environment. Do let us know what you think of it now šŸ˜„

For this level, we opened up the background to reveal a distant mountain range which is an important narrative landmark that helps situate the player within the larger world. It adds depth to the composition while subtly guiding the eye toward future story beats.

To keep the space feeling alive, we layered in gentle motion: swaying flowers, fireflies, drifting smoke, and soft volumetric light rays. These details prevent the scene from feeling static and suggest a world that exists beyond the player’s immediate actions.

The architecture draws inspiration from traditional Indian rural mud houses with thatched roofs, reimagined in a stylized form to fit our game’s fantasy tone. A vibrant, high-saturation palette brings warmth and life, while clear value separation ensures gameplay readability. Small touches like the spinning windmill help reinforce rhythm, habitation, and flow within the space. We'll share more around this level in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! šŸ˜„

These dancing statues were originally built for a desert biome, but have been reimagined as a cooldown space after an intense escape sequence. The goal is to let players slow down and engage with a light, playful puzzle before an important narrative moment.

Visually, they’re inspired by Jain temple sculptures from Gujarat and Rajasthan, with poses based on classical mudras from Indian dance forms like Kathak and Odissi. Each mudra is tied directly to gameplay, enabling vertical traversal. We'll share more on these as we progress in development. Feel free to drop your thoughts in the comments below šŸ˜„
