We are a theater troupe based in Bangalore, our quiver brimming with arrows (read 'members') shooting in from all walks of life and headed towards a single target - Entertain people. And that's when we felt that theatre could be our escape from academic endeavours (barring exams). All we had to do was impress upon our teachers that we wanted to do something 'different' for our assignments, like perform a play instead of taking print-outs of our assignments 1 hour before submission. And boy, were they impressed! As a result, our first play was performed; A houseful audience on a weekday evening after college. And pretty good marks on our assignment, too. Couldn't have asked for more! But, ask we did. For more opportunities to perform. Since then, we have staged 3 more plays (all in college, while in college).
[The story behind our name:
Someone suggested having the word 'Twisted' in our name would add some zing. In a desperate bid to make a contribution, someone else suggested including the word 'Arrows' in our name.]
Present:
On a sweaty noon in June this year, one of our members shared the link they found on Youtube, of a video of the same play that we had performed while in college. That did it! Within 2 days, actors were scouted for, auditions held, and within a week, we were practising, armed with a powerful script and an eagerness to perform. Come September 8, 2012, The Twisted Arrows will be giving its maiden professional performance. Future:
