From Mug To Mike

A stage for bathroom singers to hone their singing skills! For those who'd like to graduate from mug to mike, but just don't have the nerve to!

This workshop is designed keeping in mind the many people who just love to sing at office parties or other gatherings(and mostly film songs), though they have never had the opportunity or time to learn music formally. This is an initiative to make learning singing easy and fun, like never before! The main highlight of this workshop is that it provides on a platter the basics of traditional trainin

g and also tips and tricks of singing including voice culture, studio singing and other nuances of film singing, that are not taught usually in traditional music systems. Also, the participant gets to record his or her voice in a high end studio, a truly unique experience for the bathroom singer! The workshop is being conducted by Sunil Koshy, creator of India’s first Audio Film, REBOOT. Sunil Koshy is a trained singer and techie, who has collaborated and recorded with leading singers and musicians like KS Chithra, Kumar Sanu, Hariharan, Keith Peters, lyricists including Kumaar, Jayant Kaikini, Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad and many others. He has taken sabbaticals from working as a techie going in search of music gurus, and has learnt from some of the best gurus across the country.

From Mug To Mike in collaboration with IIM Bangalore launched Hum Ek Hain on World Disability Day. The video was launched and premiered at IIMB to a packed audience who wholeheartedly appreciated the anthem.

IIMB is devoted to building robust systems of accessibility and inclusion that ensure equal access to all. By partnering with students with special needs, the Office of Disability Services (ODS) breaks barriers, and rectifies inaccessible Practices, creating structures for equitable educational experiences both in and out of the classroom.
