Bhoomija

Bhoomija Bhoomija hosts performing arts programmes across venues of Bangalore, India and abroad. Regular and predictable programming will be Bhoomija's hallmark.

We will showcase the best of music and dance from India and abroad, facilitate collaborations, work in the area of training, provide scholarships for youngsters to train/ get exposure to artforms abroad, and much more. And programming will be for multiple venues, making the programme travel rather than have the city commute from end to the other! Founded on 02 Aug '12, Bhoomija is a Trust with Gayathri Krishna as the Managing Trustee. Anjali Joshi and Archana Prasad are the other Trustees.

Bombay Jayashri at Jackfruit 2025 ♥️

brought two beautiful songs to Jackfruit Songsters 2025, curated by and for Jackfruit 2025 - Brahmam Okate and Maitreem Bhajata, both carrying timeless messages of oneness, peace, and friendship.

Brahmam Okate reminds us that the spirit is one - the same divine essence lives in everyone - while Maitreem Bhajata calls on us to live with kindness, compassion and harmony.

Simple yet profound, these songs were perfect for our 150 young singers - easy to grasp, musically rich, and full of meaning. Jayashri chose them so thoughtfully, making even big ideas beautifully accessible. Her students Chaitrra Sriram and Madhuvanthi joined in too, adding their gentle energy and guidance.

The children loved learning and singing them - and the audience loved listening. ✨

Our heartfelt thanks to Bombay Jayashri, Chaitrra, and Madhuvanthi for the joy, grace and universal spirit they brought to Jackfruit 2025, and to and for so beautifully helping mentor and conduct the songs for the shows!

Songs:
Brahmam Okate, written and composed by Jagadguru Shankaracharya
Maitreem Bhajate, written and composed by Annamacharya

“Bhalair Haire’ - one of the most special pieces from Jackfruit Songsters 2025!

Written and composed by Shraddhanand Asur, ‘Bhalair Haire’, curated by Shubha Mudgal ji and Aneesh Pradhan ji for the concert, carries the soul of the Asuri language — a tongue so beautiful, but increasingly rare. To have our children sing in Asuri filled our hearts immensely, while serving as a reminder of the music held within our many forgotten languages.

Our heartfelt thanks to the PARI Network for helping us share this piece, to Shraddhanand Asur ji for his words that bridged worlds, and Shantanu Herlekar ji for once again mentoring and conducting our singers in his fabulous way!

As one of the mentors and conductors of the Jackfruit Songsters, Shatavisha Mukherjee brought so much heart, care, and quiet strength to Jackfruit 2025. She guided our young singers of Vidushi Shubha Mudgal and Pandit Aneesh Pradhan’s Jackfruit Songsters 2025 over months, with patience, warmth, and precision, helping them grow in confidence and joy. Beyond that, she also played a key role in Vidushi Shubha Mudgal’s Musicking Into the Future, helping train and shape Aishani Paul’s performance - one of the most memorable moments of the festival!

Thank you, Shatavisha, for your artistry, generosity, and dedication. The care you brought to both your students and the music truly shone through!

Song: Dhawno Dhanyo
Written and composed by Dwijendralal Roy
