In the song of our artistic life, creativity has been the very breath of air and to know that the Nation is going to honor this by bestowing upon us The Sangeet Natak Akademi Award which is the highest recognition given to artists in the field of performing arts and to receive this from our honourable President of India is such a proud and humbling moment for us.
This award , also known as Akademi Puraskar by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama not only symbolizes the highest standard of excellence and achievements on a national basis in the field of the performing arts but also recognizes the sustained individual work of the highest professional order and contribution to the practice and appreciation of these arts through performances, teaching and scholarship.
