Ayan Shukla, a poet in making, born inPatiala he enjoys the luxury of calling Bulleh Shah's language his mother tongue- and pleasantlychooses to be called a writer of Punjabi and Hindustani poetry. The heritage of Punjabi poetryhas been passed on from his father to him, who opened various Punjabi poets to him and hehas chosen Shiv Kumar and Surjit Patar as his favourites. Among Urdu poets his choice rangesacross the generations of Meer, Zafar, Faiz, Jaun and Rahat Indori. Writing verses since the
age of 18, he also has practiced theatre in Delhi and Chennai.

For him poetry is a product of emotional turbulence. He uses his writings to appreciate occurence of various emotions arising out of love, death, life, separation etc.
Materialising these emotions helps him create and understand his mind better.
He believes art forms can help manage mental health in a very productive way.

has organised and performed in various mushairas in Pune and aspires to bring various facets of Urdu and Hindustani literature out into public sphere.
He has performed at Kavya Kalash, Jashn-e-Sukhan and Pune International Literary Festival.
Watch him perform live tomorrow!

Mahrukh Khizar an artist and illustrator from Islamabad, Pakistan. She is currently pursuing Bachelors in Fine Arts from National College of Arts in Lahore.

"My work consists of various forms of traditional art, mostly through drawings, comics and illustrations. I use art as a medium to explore my own memory and challenge my own observation of reality. It is an integral part of my work to be personal and become a form of catharsis.

Mental health has always been sacred to me, it is at the core of living with stability and harmony. Exercising self care has been a tremendous help to my personal mental health. We must share our stories and be vulnerable in all honesty regarding our experience of life.

The above artwork is a depiction of the current situation of the world where people are spending their days in quarantine. It deals with an isolated person, who is stuck in the mundane and monotonous pattern of life. It's a daily struggle to run through colourless days to meet their fated end. However, living in isolation may result in losing grasp of the time making one question reality and one's self."
Meet at Vasl, our virtual art exhibition with on 27th of June, via zoom.

"It ends or it doesn't. That's what you say. That's how you get through it. The tunnel, the night, the pain, the love. It ends or it doesn't. If the sun never comes up, you find a way to live without it. If they don't come back, you sleep in the middle of the bed, learn how to make enough coffee for yourself alone. Adapt. Adjust. It ends or it doesn't. It ends or it doesn't. We do not perish." // Unknown

"The cure lies in your art to which your mind is the artist" Art is the most powerful force on earth. A force to be reckoned with. As an artist, one tends to think beyond all limits. Dauntless is that platform where we allow ourselves to be enlightened about mental health through the medium of art, music and poetry. With this, we zealously announce the applications for the second simulation of DAUNTLESS: Mental Health Themed Art Exhibition.
