Our final artist from the “Uprise” exhibition is Vijay Kumar S Awarad who has completed his BVA and MVA in Painting (Gold Medalist) from Gulbarga University. He has received the scholarship from Karnataka Lalithakala Academy and Young Artist scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, India. He has also received the VK Chitrakalotsava award and the All India Lokamanya Tilak Annual Art Exhibition Award. Vijay Kumar says, “Art is the language of presence - a way of showing who we are without saying a word.” His work is a fusion of narrative, symbolism, and technique, transforming everyday subjects into poetic reflections on time and memory. It is centered around black-and-white pen drawings and paintings. His precision is influenced by the black-and-white works and watercolor techniques of master artists he deeply admires, as well as by childhood games that involved imagining animals like elephants, bears, and camels. Our next artist from the “Uprise” exhibition, Sukruti Singh Choudhary is currently pursuing her Master’s in Fine Arts, and her artistic journey is deeply intertwined with her fascination for the zodiac. To her, it’s more than a belief system—it’s a way of decoding human nature. She believes everything has two sides, so she often merges two colors to show that balance. Sukruti doesn’t just tell stories—she visualizes them, layering her work with rhythm and symbolism. Her art isn’t about decoration; it’s about connection. Every brushstroke, every blend of color, carries the weight of intention, often balancing risk and emotion in pursuit of harmony. Painting is her way of making sense of the world, especially the unseen forces that shape it. Still early in her journey, Sukruti embraces the process of learning and discovery, constantly exploring the vast terrain of what exists—both within and around her. See her works at:

Today we introduce Siddaraddy Y who is an emerging visual artist currently pursuing his Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) at MMK College of Visual Arts, Kalaburagi. His art is rooted in strong narrative and symbolism, exploring the complex and often contradictory relationship between humans and animals. A recipient of the Drushya Belaka Award (2024), Siddaraddy has participated in numerous art exhibitions. Siddaraddy’s compositions often depict scenes of coexistence between humans and animals—yet beneath the surface, they question the imbalance of that relationship. Through metaphoric storytelling, he highlights how human beings exert control over animals and nature, mirroring broader themes of dominance, exploitation, and ecological neglect. See his works at:
