Painted a shutter mural to revamp Fine Tuned Automotive's garage.⚙️

An old-school camper van along with a few mech parts they fine tune, and a dash of abstract electric vibe around, all using their brand colours!

It was a challenge to paint on a shutter for the first time but gave me creative freedom to explore design and sprays. Thanks boys for letting me paint, and for all the help .ajayallen._ .ulfath.37 and Muthib :)

It was a fun project!❤️🖤

Cam pic creds: . Check out his work for some really cool automotive and motorsports photography!🏁

Close ups and process of 'Unseen' evolved over the last many months!

To have started off with a completely different visual and feel, quite a few stages of back and forth and feedback, to have ended up with the final painting, it's been a journey with this piece.💙

Swipe to see its different phases!

TITLE: Unseen
SIZE: 4 ft by 3 ft
MEDIUM: Acrylics and Gesso on Canvas

CONCEPT:
Unseen is the bulk of the iceberg that lies beneath the waterline, supporting the small fraction seen to the naked eye.

Sigmund Freud’s theory of the unconscious mind employs the unseen to represent a being’s unconscious mind. A reservoir of feelings of pain, negative urges, traumatic experiences and socially unacceptable ideas put off the conscious mind by the mechanism of psychological repression. All we see on the surface is the small, bird’s eye view of the iceberg, representing our conscious mind.

The influences of the hidden unconscious mind lead to psychological distress and disturbances, triggering and affecting thoughts and behaviour of the conscious mind.

Most people in this day and age don’t see how this dynamic works, leading to issues on a personal and societal level.

You may not be able to see the entirety of your unconscious mind in a single frame, much like you can’t see the bottom of the iceberg in this artwork. To address it, however, is what is absolutely necessary so the consequences can be controlled and reduced.
One’s conscious mind remains occupied throughout so much so that one often forgets to accept, embrace every emotion and slowly empty the reservoir, that is the unconscious mind.

The purpose of this piece is to remind the viewers to look into the unseen and all that it holds, and take care of their mental well-being.

To sum up, quoting my mentor Sabari Das, “there is always more to it than meets the eye.”

Peregrination: The journey🏞️

In Collaboration with

The Artwork is a part of 'Paper Duets', an internationally collaborated paper art exhibition, curated by sir. On view at The Gallery Art Motif, New Delhi, till the end of September.

Concept Note:
The Peregrination at its core is the abstraction of a long chaotic journey of the gushing river towards the unseen sea, its final destination.
It contrasts the language of a ‘Kannada Bhavageethe (emotional poetry) – Kaanada Kadalige Hambaliside Mana’, originally a poem by Rashtrakavi G.S.Shivarudrappa with the musicality of the ‘Kalyani Raga’ of Carnatic music.

The organic shape is the abstraction of Karnataka map, the birthplace of both the Poet and Purandara Dasa, father of Carnatic music. The poem personifies the river and highlights its trials and tribulations on its course leading to the sea. The artwork, a visual rendition of this personification is guided by the lines ‘Jatila kananada kutila patagalali hariva toreyu naanu, Endigadaru Kanada kadalanu Seraballenenu? Serabahude naanu? Kadala neeliyolu karagabahude naanu?’ which translates to ‘I am the stream that flows through crooked paths in the arduous forests, will I be able to dissolve in the azure sea someday?’. This uneasiness in the poem is comforted by ‘Kalyani raga’ that embodies affection, calmness and kindness.

We hope ‘The Peregrination’ comforts the viewer when seen that the river does meet the unseen sea, despite all the hurdles throughout the long journey.

Wall 2 (detailed shots)🤍

This wall's brief was to show Open's work culture through cues and instances given by the company.

The design has Open's logo in the centre with its four founders.
Pockets of scenes from different parts of the office at different times and ocassions is shown, all connected by a cycling track that they have at the office.

This wall was to make the space and art relatable to their employees and show the openness culture they have.💜

It was fun to get to know their company and employees, and execute this, along with and .06! :)

Wall 1 (detailed shots).

This wall is an ode to Bengaluru.🌸
The theme of the wall was to visually represent Bangalore's culture in relation to our booming startup culture!

Came up with quirky puns and instances in the city connecting startup terms and trends, with our people, places and culture.🌆

The fact that Bangalore as a city is open to so many cultures and diversities was used as the focal point to relate it to the startup's name 'Open'.

There's always so much happening in every part of Bangalore, which is shown as pockets of scenes connected by the Bangalore map.🛣️📍

A part of the mural shows Open's headquarters in Bangalore, and their history of branches and expansion. :)

Super happy with how the design and ex*****on of this wall turned out.🤍

Thanks to and .06 for all the help!✨

Hope y'all like this! :)
