✨ Artist Spotlight: Meet Giorgia Vitali ( )! ✨

Every Ajna performance is brought to life by incredible artists, and today we're shining the spotlight on Giorgia! 💛

Here are a few fun facts about Giorgia:
✨Dance journey: Giorgia began training in ballet, jazz, modern, and flamenco at just 7 years old. She later moved to the U.S. to study at the Joffrey Ballet School, where she trained in musical theatre, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. At 10, she discovered waacking, vogue, house, heels, and Bollywood—expanding her love for movement across cultures and styles.
✨If she wasn't a dancer: She'd be a writer or an archaeologist
✨Hidden talent: She speaks five languages!
✨Favorite Bollywood movie: Padmaavat
✨Favorite local NYC spot: Evelina - an Italian restuarant in Greenpoint

Why is sharing South Asian culture through dance important to you:

"South Asian culture welcomed me with open arms and gave me opportunities I would have never dreams of. I am a lucky guest of the culture.

It is a culture dear to my heart and not too different from my Italian roots. The storytelling aspect of South Asian dance is unique and so captivating that deserves to be shared with everyone more and more.""

Every performance is an opportunity to celebrate culture, build community, and inspire curiosity through the arts. We're so grateful to have artists like Giorgia on our team. 💛

Show Giorgia some love in the comments! 💛

This summer, we had the joy of sharing South Asian dance, music, storytelling, and culture with students across New York City. From Bollywood and Bhangra to moments of creativity, confidence, and connection, every class reminded us of the power and joy of the arts to bring people together.

Thank you to our incredible teaching artists, school partners, educators, and students for making this summer so memorable. We can't wait to see you all in the Fall!
