Kaido has been around for some VERY important fights.

At God Valley, he was involved in the conflict against Imu. Decades later in Wano, Kaido eventually faced Luffy after Luffy became Joy Boy.

So Kaido has literally stood across from both Imu and Joy Boy in his lifetime.

Personally, that makes Kaido’s role in the story even more interesting. He may have lost to Luffy, but his history puts him directly in the middle of two of the biggest forces in One Piece.

Vincent Chansard already knows which Elbaph characters have his attention.

The One Piece animator, known for his incredible work on Luffy’s Gear 5 scenes, revealed that Rocks and Loki are the characters he’s most interested in from the upcoming Elbaph Arc.

And honestly, that pairing makes me even more curious about what’s coming. If Chansard gets to animate a major Rocks or Loki scene, we could be in for something absolutely insane.

One Piece really said it’s time to flush away our grudges.

The new One Piece Base Shop in Tokyo is selling exclusive toilet paper featuring some of the series’ most hated characters, including Spandam, Charlos, Orochi, and Alvida. The rolls are made from 100% recycled paper and even come with manga-style artwork printed across them.

I don’t know who came up with this idea, but putting Charlos on toilet paper might be one of the most appropriate pieces of One Piece merch ever made.

Luffy wasn’t the first Monkey D. to throw a punch at the people ruling the world.

At God Valley, Garp went straight after Imu, who was controlling Saturn’s body at the time. He unleashed Galaxy Impact as part of a massive combined attack with Roger, Rocks, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom. Imu survived the assault thanks to their incredible regeneration.

Honestly, this makes Garp even more ridiculous. Luffy’s Celestial Dragon punch was iconic, but Garp was out here fighting the actual person sitting at the top of the entire World Government.

The Monkey D. family really does not know how to leave the World Government alone.

Long before One Piece became what it is today, Eiichiro Oda was already fascinated by the stories of real pirates.

In a 1997 comment, Oda said he had been gathering reference materials and reading about pirates he admired in his youth. He joked that many of those pirates were probably too busy living their own adventures to leave written records behind.

I honestly love how this gives us a glimpse into the kind of imagination Oda had even before One Piece became a phenomenon. Real pirate history clearly played a big role in feeding that creativity.

Blackbeard and Kuma are such an interesting contrast when you look at what God Valley represented in their lives.

Both were exposed to the cruelty surrounding the incident, yet their paths couldn't have turned out more differently. Blackbeard embraced the darkness around him, while Kuma ultimately became someone willing to sacrifice himself to protect others.

I love this kind of parallel in One Piece because it shows how two people can experience horrific circumstances and still become completely different people.

Ace really knew how to make people believe in Luffy.

While talking to Yamato about his younger brother, Ace listed everything Luffy had already accomplished and confidently said that he was capable of “turning the world upside down.” That statement stuck with Yamato and sparked her strong curiosity about Luffy.

I love how much Ace believed in his little brother. Even when Luffy wasn’t there, Ace was out there hyping him up like he already knew exactly how far he would go.

Rocks’ true reason for going to God Valley has finally been revealed.

For years, Rocks was portrayed as one of the most dangerous pirates in history. But the God Valley flashback revealed that he went there to protect his wife, Eris, and his son, Teach, who were in danger on the island.

That completely changes the way I look at Rocks. He may have been a ruthless pirate, but when his family was threatened, he came back to protect them.

It makes Rocks’ story at God Valley so much more tragic knowing what ultimately happened to him.

IShowSpeed just had one of his classic meltdowns while reacting to the official announcement of One Piece Film: God Valley (coming summer 2027) and Film: BAAD (2029). The second the title cards dropped, chat started spamming “LARPER” because he clearly didn’t clock the God Valley Incident lore right away. Speed went full crash-out mode, yelling and gesturing like the chat just personally attacked him.

“Bro really thought God Valley was some random new island 😭”
“Chat cooking him in real time is never not funny”

Honestly the whole thing is peak Speed. Dude’s loud as hell about One Piece but still gets exposed the second something deeper than Luffy’s latest punch shows up. It’s chaotic and low-key relatable if you’ve ever pretended to know more about a series than you actually do.
