As Black History Month comes to a close, let’s talk about something that doesn’t end when February does 😒… “colorism”

(Living in Hollywood myself , I know that ) Colorism in Hollywood is real 👀

Opportunities have historically been influenced by proximity to certain standards ~even within our own community ✨

But here’s the truth:

Your color is your lineage.
Your shade tells a story.
Your skin carries history, resilience, and legacy.💪🏾

And talent?

Talent has no color.🤩

The industry may have patterns.
It may have preferences.
It may have systems that need reform.🫠

But your gift is not limited by someone else’s bias 🫰🏽

Breakthrough has never belonged to one shade.
It belongs to the prepared.
The disciplined.
The undeniable.✨

Black history doesn’t end with a month.
It is lived every day.
It is built every generation.
It continues through you.🔥

Do not shrink.
Do not compare.
Do not internalize ceilings that were never meant to define you.

Excellence transcends shade💯

And history?
It goes on forever.✊🏾

There’s something sacred about a Christmas play. 🎄✨
For actors, it’s not just a performance~it’s a calling. Every line, movement, and moment becomes an offering. You’re not just telling a story… you’re carrying meaning.

And for the audience, it’s a reminder.
Christ as our Savior. Hope made visible. Love spoken aloud through art.

Watching this play was a beautiful reminder of how theater becomes ministry during the holidays; how storytelling can soften hearts, bring families together, and point us back to what truly matters.

🎭 Actor Tip:
When performing in faith-based or holiday productions, don’t perform the message~believe it. Let the truth of the story live in you first. When it moves you, it will move the audience effortlessly.

This is why art matters.
This is why theater endures.
And this is why Christmas on stage feels… divine.

Gem Fam💎; if you’re an actor, remember: your gift makes room not just for opportunity, but for impact.🎭
