Originally
located on the east of River Sabarmati, Ashapalli is
traced back to the 9th -10th century up until the
13th century. This Ashapalli Festival is a community celebration of
the various arts and crafts of not only Ahmedabad
but the whole of Gujarat. The focus of this festival is
on Smart City Development. It aims to involve the
youth and link them to our roots thereby inspiring
them to ack
nowledge and sustain our culture and
heritage. From paintings, sculptures, public art displays, visual art installations, music, dance, theatre, literature, art stalls, to craft workshops and much more. Various institutions, schools, galleries,
establishments have come together to celebrate
Gujarat and bring about awareness for two
important goals that future generations will applaud
- a ‘Smart’ and ‘Sustainable’ City. These four festive days aim to exhilarate and
develop respect for Ahmedabad.
