A Lantern - Manidipa Sarkar's latest painting....

Fundamentally, the lantern provides light. Light, in its context helps lead the way forward, towards the future and pushes aside the surrounding darkness. Where long path before us is useless without the light from the lantern to show us the way.

In current pandemic situation, we all need a way to move forward. Let's hope for the best.

Lord Krishna by Manidipa....

But for me, things are simple. “I don’t have any grand aspirations, I just want to keep painting Krishna.”

I love to paint the Lord, because it keeps me absorbed in Him. When I’m painting, I have to research the kind of jewellery He’s wearing, or look in the Shastra to find out what exactly I can and cannot depict, or if I’m painting His feet and I’m not satisfied, I’ll be thinking constantly about them until I get them right.

“Painting,” I conclude, “Is my way of feeling connected with Krishna.”

Adivasi girl painting from Manidipa....

Through this painting, I have tried to portrait adivasi girl, she love the fresh air and the greenery that rural life has to offer. Houses made of clay and straw roofs, open courtyards, small vegetable gardens lining homestead lands, gatherings on various occasions and the strong community bonds, are what make life worth living. I have tried to define beauty of a rural girl.

In Mahatma Gandhi's words, who said, “The soul of India lives in its villages”. This painting dedicated to such beautiful adivasi girl of my country.

ArdhNarishwar - "There is no Shiva without Shakti and no Shakti without Shiva."

Human being is a mixture of masculinity and feminity but in today's world a man showing compassion is considered weird while a woman showing power is considered rebellious .

Sanatan Dharma teaches us that a human being consists of both traits and to balance them is our challenge.

Being manly doesn't mean you become insensitive towards your family and being a woman doesn't mean you can't earn for your family. All we need to do is to balance it all.

We are our own Soulmates and once we balance it, things around us will start getting balanced itself.

Lord Shiva by @ Manidipa Sarkar....

"An uncontrolled mind can lead you to live a disastrous life. You cannot win your targets when you lose focus and fall prey to your desires and addictions. Therefore, it’s necessary to keep your mind aligned to your goals and heart too. Lord Shiva is GOD of meditation. I feel he inspires me to be focused. I am a big devotee of Shiva and love to paint Lord Shiva."

Encouragement to Hetakshi Chauhan, An amateur painter from Ahemdabad..

Youth are the engine of change. Empowering them and providing them with the right opportunities can create an endless array of possibilities.

I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say “because of you I didn’t give up.”

This painting is made by my neighborhood girl – Hetakshi Chauhan. Inspiring this wonderful girl cost me nothing, but I think I have boosted her self-confidence.
