Day 1: Seeing Light, Framing Stories

Our young photographers began their journey with the team at Softbox Academy, exploring the fundamentals of photography through hands-on learning.

From understanding light, lenses, aperture, and composition to light-sensitive materials, the day was filled with discovery.

The highlight?
Building their very own pinhole cameras and seeing how simple ideas create magic.

📸 *Photography Workshop for Kids*

A hands-on, curiosity-driven introduction to photography — where children don’t just learn _how_ cameras work, but _why_ images look the way they do.

*What children will explore:*
✨ Introduction to the camera
✨ Natural & artificial light
✨ Focus, framing & composition
✨ Build and take home their own pinhole camera
✨ Field trip where kids practice learnt concepts through real & mobile phone cameras
✨ Exhibition of selected pictures at The Hive on Sat, Mar 28

Why pinhole photography?
Because it slows children down — helping them understand light, observation, patience, and cause–effect in the most magical way.

All cameras and practice equipment will be provided during the workshop.

_A 4-Session Games Programme for Ages 5–7_

You’ve loved our Jr. Gamer programmes, and asked us to take in younger kids too. We hear you! :)

_Mini Gamers’ Club_ is a 4-session, game-based programme designed to help 5-7 year olds develop essential thinking skills using light strategy, pattern, memory, and logic games. Children will learn how to plan, decide, and adapt — all in a fun, pressure-free environment.

*What Will Children Do?*
Across four guided sessions, children will play a variety of tabletop board games including:
* Pattern & matching games
* Strategy classics
* Memory and logic challenges
* Cooperative and turn-based games

*Skills & Takeaways*
Children will build:
* Pattern recognition and visual scanning
* Planning and decision-making
* Problem-solving and flexible thinking
* Communication and explanation of ideas
* Social skills like waiting, sharing, and fair play

Riddles with more than one right answer. And Young performers with some s***k.

‘Riddle Me This’ had the audience guessing, giggling, and clapping all the way through! Featuring some of the youngest performers across all EIPP seasons, this spirited cast proved that curiosity, and a love for the stage can shine at any age.

Beautifully directed by Kabir Thakore and anchored by Himanee Jhaveri the play was a delightful mix of wit, wonder, and wholehearted performance.

Here’s to tiny voices keeping the audience hooked till the very end.

Introducing The Open Hive - A space where conversations spark ideas, and ideas shape journeys.

Our very first talk at The Hive set the tone in the most inspiring way.

With a full house of parents and young builders, LEGO Master Builder Ritam Bhatnagar shared his journey, the challenges, the discipline, the quiet resilience behind the bricks — and a powerful reminder that LEGO is not just a toy, it’s a way of thinking. From imagination and problem-solving to critical thinking and collaboration, the morning unpacked how skills are built early — often disguised as play.

What made the session truly special was the curiosity. Parents and children asked thoughtful questions —

How do you imagine your next build?
How do you store and organise thousands of bricks?
What career paths can LEGO open up?

What stayed with us most was his reflection on parental support, how encouragement, shared credit and trust shape not just builders, but confident individuals.
