Sanskrit is often introduced to us as an ancient language. But that description barely begins the story.
Across centuries, Sanskrit became a language of extraordinary literary, philosophical, grammatical and scholarly traditions. Its influence can also be found across many South Asian languages and cultural traditions.
You don’t have to speak Sanskrit fluently to become curious about what was written, preserved and passed forward through it.
