Celebrating 100 Years of Ritwik Ghatak, the visionary auteur who made eight feature films, each a milestone in Indian cinema and influenced a generation of maverick filmmakers like Mani Kaul, Kumar Shahani and John Abraham as a teacher. A brilliant artist who did not get his due in his lifetime, he is hailed as a genius today.

On the occasion of his birth centenary, the CELLULOID family pays its respectful tribute to Ritwik Ghatak.

📢 PRESS RELEASE on the Demise of Legendary Singer Zubeen Garg

Legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg has tragically passed away at the age of 52 in Singapore following a scuba diving accident. He was rescued from the sea by local authorities and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU, but despite the doctors’ best efforts, his life could not be saved. Zubeen had travelled to Singapore to perform at the North East Festival.

Zubeen Garg was more than just a singer—he was the heartbeat of Assam, a cultural icon whose songs carried the spirit of the Northeast to every corner of the country. His sudden death has left fans in disbelief and mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the world.

For millions, this is not just the loss of a musician, but the end of an era.
