World Arabic Language Day | Memories and Learning That Continue
Every year, World Arabic Language Day brings me not only celebration but also reflection. As my mother tongue is Tamil and my faith is deeply tied to Arabic, I stand at a unique intersection where two languages shape my identity.
From childhood, I was inspired by the flowing beauty of Arabic calligraphy, learning to see letters as art — structures of meaning much like architecture itself. This passion has stayed with me, reminding me that language is design, discipline, and creativity.
I still carry vivid memories, like praying in 2021 at Masjid Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai, where I heard a unique qirath for the first time. That moment was eye‑opening, a reminder that language, sound, and space can merge into profound experience.
On this day, I continue to learn, to remember, and to celebrate Arabic as both language and art a living bridge of heritage, faith, and inspiration.
