Today, we bid farewell to Yaacov Agam, one of Israel’s most celebrated artists and the founder of the Kinetic Art Movement, who passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 98.
Awarded the 2026 Israel Prize for Visual Arts, Agam transformed the way audiences experience art through his vibrant geometric compositions and works that came to life through movement, perspective, and participation.
President Isaac Herzog described Agam as “one of the most respected and recognized Israeli artists in the world,” and praised the unique artistic language he created through movement, change, and renewal.
Among his most iconic public works are the Fire and Water Fountain in Dizengoff Square, Tel Aviv, and the monumental fountain at La Défense in Paris. His work has been exhibited in leading institutions worldwide, including Guggenheim Museum and MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
His fascination with movement and transformation evolved into a groundbreaking artistic language that inspired generations of artists and forever changed the way we experience art.
Bruno Art Group was honored to have a longstanding relationship with Yaacov Agam and proudly submitted his candidacy for the Israel Prize for Visual Arts.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his extraordinary vision.
His legacy of movement, innovation, and creativity will continue to inspire generations to come.
