Founded by Eliezer Rosenfeld in 1948, the Rosenfeld Gallery, Tel Aviv, has become one of the most prominent exhibition spaces in the local art scene.

ution with a rich history and a fine reputation, holding an impressive private collection. Since 1995 it has been owned and directed by Zaki Rosenfeld. Since 1999, the gallery has changed its orientation, focusing increasingly on contemporary art and on spotting new talent. The gallery represents an impressive roster of artists, up-and-coming alongside more established, eminent names, each of whom is changing the face of Israeli art. Rosenfeld gallery's agenda is building careers for its highly talented artists, working side by side and giving them the ability and sources to realize their excellence. Relocated in 2009, the gallery moved to its new space in south Tel Aviv, an industrial area which is evolving into one of the most prominent sites in the local art scene. This area, which is characterized by large industrial spaces, enables presenting contemporary art in its most proper environment. In the past few years, it has become a favored location for many artists’ studios. The gallery's relocation to this evolving area reinforces its existence as a major center of the local art field. In addition to fostering and promoting a stable of cutting-edge talent, the gallery is also involved in other intriguing projects in several media. Together, all these initiatives and ventures make the Rosenfeld Gallery a must-see, a worthwhile stop on the local gallery circuit and one of the brightest spots on the Israeli art map. The site is updated regularly, and is intended to serve as a platform for special web projects in the future.

In Alona Rodeh’s 𝘋𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘰 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘮, the familiar slips into the surreal as what appears to be an electrecuted flock of birds reveals itself to be drones instead. These machines become part of an autonomous world that seems to have carried on without us. The computer animated scene captures Rodeh’s recurring interest in mechanical repetition, automation, and a reality where technology persists beyond human control.

Efrat Hakimi’s 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘢 comprises fifty species of “Israeli” wildflowers rendered as delicate, minimalist paper cut-outs, evoking both botanical field guides and the nostalgic memory of pressed flowers preserved between the pages of an album. Produced while living in New York and first exhibited in its entirety in Chicago, the series explores the histories of plant names in Hebrew, Arabic, and English, examining how naming reflects ideological acts of appropriation and the construction of belonging.

Noy & Tamir’s ceramic relief 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴 moves between past and present. Their visual language draws on ancient civilizations and archaeological artifacts from the Ancient Near East - such as Assyrian reliefs depicting gods, kings, fortresses, and warfare - while incorporating references to video games and digital culture. The universe they construct is masculine, violent, and saturated with struggles for power and control, while the fragile nature of ceramic emphasizes the vulnerability of the q***r body that persistently inhabits their work.

Visit us and cool down from the summer heat with Zoya Cherkassky! ❄️

Frozen lakes and snow-covered streets appear in Cherkassky’s paintings. At first glance, these scenes may seem like a continuation of the “Soviet landscape” long associated with her practice. Here, however, they depict her first encounters with the landscapes of New York State, where she has lived for the past two years.

Zamir Shatz, now featured in 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 | 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌸 curated by Maya Frenkel-Tene 🌸

In a recent series of gouache paintings on paper, Zamir Shatz imagines a childhood and adolescence in Yemen (his mother’s country of origin) and on the island of Socotra. In reality, the island, under Yemeni control, is far removed from the Western fantasy of an “exotic paradise”; its villages lack basic infrastructure, and daily life unfolds in the shadow of prolonged conflict and ongoing struggles for power. Presented on the artist’s Instagram account as an unfolding visual diary, the works construct an autobiographical narrative that moves between reality and fiction, childhood and adulthood, Yemen and Israel.

Yael Wertheim Soen foregrounds the autonomous language of painting, emphasizing surface, form, and material. Emerging from a deep engagement with color and composition, her images are at once sensual and uncanny, embracing the unconventional and the traditionally “ugly”.
