The old approach in is over.

Quoting John Landgraf the Chairman of FX Networks:

"We don’t want to be 20 million people’s favorite show. We want to be 5 million people’s favorite show", "That’s been a new thing for me and our whole marketing department to learn."

Just awareness is not enough, we need to know how to target our audience. We are not Apple or Google, we don't have infinite ad money, especially in 2023.

Now that TV is not linear and the competition in streaming tv is rising, ads on cost way less. There are opportunities to pick the content that our audience watches.

Don't waste your ad money on big, general content that might hit some users and might convert, these days are gone for most of us. When we have a limited amount of marketing money, we need to be spot on.

Choose wisely, and the conversion will be much higher.
