New Leaf

I painted this piece more than a year ago. I finished it but it never felt right. Something was missing.

Two months ago, I decided to return to it. I reworked the mother’s hair and nose, and deepened the contrasts by adding darker tones to both faces.
The changes are subtle, but everything shifted.

Now it feels grounded and complete.

Sometimes a painting just needs time.

I started it in November 2024, but got stuck on the hands… and from there, everything started to fall apart.

The more I tried to fix it, the worse it became,
so I put it away for a long time.

A month ago, I decided to try again. This time, with a different approach… and more trust in the process.

She is calm, present, and deeply connected to what’s coming. There is trust in her body, in the future, in the life she carries.

In the background, a small branch begins to grow. Almost unnoticed, but essential. A reminder that life is already unfolding, gently and with certainty.

The Strength Beneath

This piece began with thin, spontaneous lines, almost without thinking.

At first, I didn’t even like it. I left it in my living room, looking at it for days… until it slowly revealed itself, the tree.

The soft color in the background represents the inner self: rich, complex, alive.The white layers are the outside world, trying to mute or contain it. But the tree remains. Strong. Present. Like a pine in winter, it doesn’t lose itself. It resists.

A quiet reminder of inner strength, even when everything around us tries to dim it.

This piece offers a contemporary answer to what it could mean to be a man. It portrays a father holding his child after a sleepless night, exhausted, yet fully devoted. Through this intimate moment, masculinity is redefined as tenderness, responsibility, and emotional openness. The connection between father and child becomes a quiet expression of love and trust. The organic, leaf-like forms suggest that this way of being is instinctive, rooted in human nature.

This painting started as part of a bigger idea — two works created together, almost like an embrace.
As I kept working, something shifted. What began as one shared movement slowly opened up, and each piece started to find its own space.
My process is very intuitive. I usually begin with an idea, but it’s during the painting itself that things really evolve.
