المشروع القريب عالقلب
من سنة ثانية، سمستر ثاني، بكورس الطقوس.
صممت أداة “مرش الطيب” خصيصاً لكنيسة السيّدة الغدراء بسخنين.
كل تفصيل فيها مستوحى من العمارة الموجودة بالكنيسة،
وكل حجر إلُه رمز ومعنى:
الياقوت الأحمر: بيمثّل دم المسيح والقديسين، والتضحية.
الياقوت الأزرق: بيرمز للسماء، الملكوت، النقاء والحكمة.
الجمشت: بيرمز للتوبة، التواضع، وضبط النفس.
الزمرد: بيدلّ على النقاء، القداسة، والفرح.
بلاضافة لاستخدام ألوان المينا اللي كانت تُستخدم بالأيقونات المسيحية في القرن الرابع،
ورسمت فيها تفاصيل الكنيسة نفسها على الأداة.
وأضفت جملة محفورة ، وموجودة بمدخل الكنيسة:
“تُعَظِّمُ نَفسي الرَّبَّ، وتَبتَهِجُ روحي باللهِ مُخَلِّصي.”
A Project Close to My Heart
This project was developed in my second year, second semester, as part of the Rituals course.
I designed a liturgical object titled “Incense Sprinkler”, created specifically for the Church of the Virgin Mary in Sakhnin.
Every element of the design draws inspiration from the church’s architecture, and each stone embedded in the object carries symbolic meaning:
• Red sapphire – represents the blood of Christ and the saints, and the idea of sacrifice.
• Blue sapphire – symbolizes the heavens, the divine kingdom, purity, and wisdom.
• Amethyst – reflects repentance, humility, and self-restraint.
• Emerald – evokes purity, holiness, and spiritual joy.
I also incorporated enamel colors traditionally used in 4th-century Christian iconography, and I hand-painted architectural details from the church directly onto the object.
An inscription engraved on the piece is taken from the church’s entrance:
“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
