Avigail Rich [ ] is a goldsmith and multidisciplinary artist developing handmade jewelry collections. Her designs include earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces made of 925 silver. Rich focuses on the study of aesthetics and the meeting between forms and movement.

As an artist, she creates within the limits of her means, consolidating her designs by looking for manual solutions and minimal gestures in the material.

We’re happy to present ’s book, “Yesterday’s Dreams: A Catalog of Dreams from the Wartime Period” at our upcoming pop-up art book shop during . ✨

“Yesterday’s Dreams” is a project that collects and illustrates dreams from the wartime period, creating a catalog based on hundreds of Israelis’ dream descriptions. Initiated two weeks after the outbreak of war, the project views dreams as intimate capsules that reveal a shared subconscious during volatile times. This small collection helps contain the nightmares and that the artist helps makes us feel less alone. Through this process, May discovered that other people’s nightmares are not as scary as our own—and that ours become less frightening once we share them.

Liat’s work is a reflection of her deep reverence for natural materials, with her dyes and fabrics sourced directly from her surroundings, wherever she finds herself. Over the past five years, she has dedicated herself to textile research and product development, delving into areas such as knitwear, yarns, fiber farming, and circular solutions, all while championing health-conscious materials and environmental stewardship.

Join us for the celebratory launch of exhibition catalog, “Resting Bitch” by video artist Sharon Balaban. The launch and a special artist talk will take place at on Friday, December 27th at 11:00 as part of .

The unique catalog, designed by Studio Amal, is an extensive visual and textual document of the artist’s solo exhibition under the same title, which was curated by Sala-Manca Group in 2022. Alongside images of Balaban’s work, the catalog features original texts and interviews exploring the video lexicon Balaban has developed over the years, the planning process of Resting Bitch, and the installation’s unique placement which was organized in collaboration with Ariel Armoni, the curator and the Ma’amuta Center team.

The catalog launch is an opportunity to invite Balaban’s colleagues for a conversation about themes and ideas arising from this work. Dr. Adina Kamien, Curator of the Department of Modern Art at the Israel Museum, will discuss Contemporary Surrealism and the Everyday. Efrat Shalem, an artist specializing in video art, cinema, photography, and writing, and a senior lecturer in the Screen-Based Arts Department at Bezalel Academy, will talk about the WOMANHOUSE project, in which artists Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro rented a villa in Hollywood to explore female experience and fantasy within the domestic space.

We are excited to invite you to the launch event for the book « Wall, Courtyard, Building — Hansen House: The First Decade », which will take place on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 7:30 PM, in the attic of Hansen House, as part of In Print | Holiday edition 2024.

Once a leprosy asylum and a home to a community of outcasts, Hansen House today serves as a space for artists, designers, researchers, students, and visitors alike. Its gates are always open, revealing a place filled with sights to see, sounds to hear, flavors to taste, and experiences to cherish.

Spanning 8 dunams, Hansen House might seem like a large and sprawling complex, but it remains an intimate, community-oriented, and welcoming space.

The book « Wall, Courtyard, Building » (edited by Dr. Dan Handel) reviews a decade of activities at Hansen House in Jerusalem’s Talbiya neighborhood, showcasing its transformation into a vibrant, diverse, and unique cultural center. The chapters of the book feature articles and imagery from projects, events, and happenings that have taken place there over the past ten years.

Sergeant Aner Elyakim Shapira fell on October 7th, at 22 years old. Aner was at the “Nova” party in Re’im when the attack began, when he started heading towards the Sufa base—but near the Re’im junction, shooting began, and from there Aner and his traveling companions attempted to take refuge , entering a shelter where 24 people hid, terrified.

Aner stood alone at the entrance to the shelter, took the lead and calmed the people, he instructed them to move away and protect themselves, while he himself repelled the gr***des, caught them and threw them back outside, away from the shelter.

After he managed to block and repel 8-9 gr***des by himself, and block the terrorists from entering the shelter, the eighth gr***de exploded in his hand and Aner was killed. In his heroic act, Aner saved ten people. The story of his heroism has been told by survivors ever since, and he will forever be remembered as a fearless hero.

But Aner was an artist and musician, too. As his family describes, Aner was always with notebooks—whether to write or to draw. Over the course of his life, he created dozens of paintings and planned to release a clothing line as a way to showcase his art. After his death, his family took on the work of making this happen.

We are truly honored to have the chance to showcase Aner’s work at our upcoming In Print Holiday edition event. It is a chance to honor this hero, and bring his artistic vision to life. Aner’s family will have a booth where they’ll sell the artist’s prints, clothing, music and more.

While our fair runs from Dec 25-27, Aner’s booth and artwork will be sold during two days, Dec 26 & 27—so please be sure to come visit!

“Old City Jerusalem” by Ofir Barak

Throughout history, visitors and pilgrims have been captivated by the unique holiness and religious atmosphere of the Holy Land, particularly Jerusalem. To commemorate their visits, some have expressed their thoughts and experiences through drawings or paintings, while others have recorded their impressions in writing. Despite the wealth of literature about Jerusalem, even the most comprehensive accounts struggle to fully capture the city’s essence and atmosphere, conveying the true feeling of the place alongside its complexity.

The advent of photography in the 19th century marked a turning point in the city’s documentation. Early photographic efforts, constrained by technological limitations such as long exposure times and slow film speeds, primarily focused on static subjects like topography and sacred sites, serving mainly as visual souvenirs for pilgrims.

As photographic technology advanced, so did the scope of Jerusalem’s visual representation. The ability to capture the city’s dynamic life with increasing precision offered unprecedented insights into its multifaceted existence.

This project has been a labor of love by the artist, Ofir Barak, capturing the essence of one of the world’s most iconic cities during the years of 2014 till 2024. With stunning photographs and personal reflections, “Old City Jerusalem” invites you to journey through the heart of this sacred place. Witness the evolving stories, moments, and people that have shaped the Old City over the past decade. Discover the resilience, spirituality, and deep human connections that define this city by the three Abrahamic religions.

 It’s our pleasure to invite you to a special holiday edition of In Print, opening December 25th, 2024 at Hansen House in Jerusalem!

After a long year, we’re eager to spread some holiday cheer within our community. What better way to do that than by hosting an event to support local creatives and inspire our audiences?

We’re spotlighting exciting vendors during these three days. This time, our booths will feature objects that go “beyond the book” from crafts and prints, to ceramics and other unique items. Visitors will have a chance to shop, just in time for the holidays, while supporting creatives from all over the country. We’re also curating a pop-up bookshop featuring a selection of new titles and art book favorites.

Tonight we’re looking forward to the book launch of “Say Something About the Sea” - a new photography book by . The book explores conceptions of masculinity in the Middle East, drawing equally from fashion photography. His q***r gaze shows how different bodies of color, and kinds of manhood perform in the space in which he works – resulting in a continuum along which identity, ethnicity, physicality, sexuality and style engage, against all odds, in a precarious interdependency.

The book is published by and we can’t wait to get our hands on a copy. 😁📚📸💫 *Book release event tonight, July 31st at 19:30, Arbanel St 2, TLV! There will be an exhibition of his works, and a presentation about the book.*
