I had never heard of Rav Sinai Adler before this painting, commissioned by a group of yeshiva boys as a gift for their Rebbe at the end of their year in Israel.
Learning about his life and legacy made this piece especially meaningful to create. A survivor of Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, and Mauthausen who lost his parents in the Holocaust, he rebuilt his life in Eretz Yisrael and became a beloved rabbi and mentor to countless students- including the Rebbe of these talmidim.
Just last week marked his yahrzeit, making this a fitting time to share this painting and honor a man whose story is one of extraordinary resilience, faith, and rebuilding.
