When your Kotel painting looks so inviting, that a client's child sees herself at the Kotel.... And then she takes a little artistic license. Such a wonderful collaboration! (non-altered version of Kotel painting in next post)

Delighted to share images from two newly minted coins, available just in time for Chanukah.

I am honored to work with the Jerusalem Mint and to have designed and executed the art work for The Maccabee Miracle Coin and the IDF Miracle Coins.

The Miracles of Israel Collection features the Maccabee Miracle Coin, depicting the ancient Maccabees lighting the Menorah at the rededication of the Holy Temple following their victory over the Greeks.

The IDF Miracle Coin pays tribute to the miraculous success of today’s Defenders of Israel. Just as the ancient Maccabees risked their lives to defend the Jewish Nation, IDF soldiers are modern-day heroes who defend the citizens of Israel. The Temple menorah is an enduring symbol of peace and light unto the nations.

Who is this guy?

What is the result when you combine classic art school training, Industrial Design and Jewish traditional scribal arts?

You access a glimpse of my Jewish soul. Trying to express the connection of The Creator, His Land and His People.

As inspired by The Lubvitcher Rebbe of blessed memory, who taught the following: “The primary talent of an artist is his ability to step away from the externalities of the thing and, disregarding its outer form, gaze into its innerness and perceive its essence, and to be able to convey this in his painting. This is how an artist can serve his Creator.”

That is what I am constantly trying to do. Using whatever media I feel is best for the particular job.
