Ceolta Sí musicians 🎶 🎵

On Wednesday 27th November Youghal Branch of Comhaltas welcomed a group of Erasmus + students from the Azores and Midleton CBS secondary school.

Our group, known as Ceolta Sí performed for our guests, danced with them, and everyone sang

An amazing night had by all 🎊 🎉
We hope to host more cultural events in the future.

November 16th 2024 Garryvoe GAA& Comhaltas

Comhaltas Craobh Eochaille/Brú na Sí were delighted for the invitation ito participate in the Imokilly Centenary Celebrations. 🎊 🎉

It was a great experience especially for our younger members... A great memory, experience and opportunity to show their skills, hone them and promote Irish music 🎶 and culture 🙌

We were proud to see the Comhaltas Branch turned out so well and who were delighted to help out in the night.... very much appreciated 🙏 👏

23 musicians performed a lively and varied set of tunes before leading the audience of 290 guests!! from “Amhrán na bhFiann" 🎶 🎵

We would especially like thank Jarlath Burns President of the GAA for taking time out to address the group and for offering great words of encouragement. It was reported that he was spotted singing along to the words of Fainne Geal and Lae.

🎊 🎉 The recent 40th celebrations in October at the Walter Raleigh Hotel 🎊 🎉

Barry Cogan, President of the Cork County Board of Comhaltas, presented a Gradam na hÉigse to Aisling Pierce. Well done Aisling 👏

Aisling has made a truly significant contribution to Youghal branch and Brú na Sí over many years. As a child she attended branch music classes with Bobby Gardiner going on the win at various Fleadhanna Cheoil.

As lead box player she was an integral part of Youghal Comhaltas performance groups representing the branch at Plearacha and Scoraíocht, Ceili Bands and other events.

She has toured with Ceolta Sí to China, Mexico, Luxembourg, Brittany, Isle of Man, Sardinia, England and Wales.

She was integral to the Youghal Seisiun group over 25 years. She also tutored many music students at Brú na Si and at local Schools and her influence is evident amongst the community of musicians in the region today.

The awards recognise the contribution of individuals but are a reflection on the growth and success of the Youghal branch of Comhaltas over the past number of years..

**Newly appointed committee of Youghal Comhaltas.**

Micheál de Buitleir has now retired as Chairman of Youghal Comhaltas in compliance with the Charities Code of Governance . At the recent AGM it was decided to separate out the management of the Branch from the management of Brú na Si.
This innovative arrangement was dutifully accepted by Ricky Roche who gave a full commitment to the position outlined in the Comhaltas Bunreacht. Micheál de Buitleir stays involved as coordinator and manager of Brú na Sí Cultural Centre.

The full committee elected at the AGM on the 30th of October reads as follows
