It has been a privilege to lead this textile related project, with 12 brave Souls healing our own grief, the collectives, our ancestors’ grief and beyond.

I commenced each week with a simple nervous system check-in, a shamanic practice/ritual for letting go heavy energy and emotions, followed by a poetry reading. I read from either ‘Loss’ by Donna Ashworth or a little pocket sized book called ‘Grief Therapy’ by Karen Katafiasz.Tea/coffee followed with scrumptious delights supplied by SigginstownCastle. We then stitched in harmony on a collective piece and a personal sewing project also. The weeks are flying by. Please come and join us at the opening on Friday 28th August at 11am.

Thanks to Women's Collective Ireland - Wexford for their support on this project and County Wexford Arts Office for funding ‘Artist in the Community’ Scheme. 🙏🏻

Healing Our Collective Grief — Textile Art Exhibition

We warmly invite you to join us for Healing Our Collective Grief, a very special textile art exhibition created through the shared creativity, stories and experiences of 12 women.

This project has brought the women together through making, reflection and connection, creating something truly meaningful and beautiful.

A very special thank you to Josephine Whitmore, the artist and visionary behind this project, guiding this journey.

We are also delighted that Jules Dollman will officially open the exhibition.

We would love for you to come, see the work, share in the stories, and celebrate the incredible journey of these 12 women.

Everyone is welcome; we’d love to see you there!

Please let us know if you would like to attend: bit.ly/WCI_TextileArtExhibition

This project was funded and supported by Wexford County Council as part of the Artist in the Community Programme.

We are now in week 4 of a 10 week programme called ‘Healing our Collective Grief’ for the Artist in the Community Scheme.

As a practicing shaman and textile artist I’ve combined both passions and written a 10 week programme, exploring grief and healing through meditative slow stitching.

We are having great fun as well as great insights at Sigginstown Castle.
