We are hosting a wonderful two-day exhibition - titled, We are not Invisible - at the end of this month in the Gallery.

With this exhibition, Mareike von Engelbrechten intends to transform and disrupt the way older women are viewed or forgotten by the media and society.

"Each image is a challenge to outdated beauty ideals, and a powerful reminder that ageing is not fading, it’s becoming more confident, more YOU. We are too experienced not to be heard, and too beautiful not to be seen. Let’s change the way the world defines ageing for our daughters and future generations." - Mareike.

Wexford Arts Centre is pleased to present Sync Shift, a solo exhibition by Órla Bates, developed through the MAKE/curate programme in partnership with the County Wexford Arts Department and . Over the course of two years, Órla worked with curator Ann Mulrooney and artist Joanna Leah towards this solo presentation of her work.

In the lead-up to the exhibition, Órla and Joanna undertook a residency in Blackbird Cultur-Lab. The work developed through the residency inquired how the artists’ respective drawn lines intersected, meshed, and phased into and out of each other. Wexford Arts Centre now offers a shared space for Joanna and Órla to draw together again, co-creating new work, which will be presented as part of the exhibition Sync Shift.
