Discovering Drama

Discovering Drama “Discovering Drama” is called “Discovering Drama” for a reason; as drama is not just about the end product but what can be learned through the process.

Currently there are three centres where classes are held:

- The first is in Piercestown on Wednesdays.

- The second is in the Gaelscoil on Whiterock Hill on Fridays.

- The third centre is in the Mercy school on John's Rd. The school runs for four eight week terms culminating in an end of year performance which this year will take place in the O'Reilly theatre in the National Opera House. . Th

e year consists of four terms and we cover, amongst another things, mime, characterization, improvisation, storytelling and, text work. We aim to instill in the students an appreciation of theatre and stage craft and an ability to work effectively in groups whilst also taking responsibility as individuals. They gain the self confidence to speak publicly while having (we hope) a lot of fun in the process.

Wishing our Leaving and Junior cert students all the best in their upcoming exams!! We think you are fabulous 🤩👌🙌
